Named Allocated GP

Under the terms of the latest GP contract, Acorn Tree Practice at May Lane Surgery is required to allocate all registered patients with a named, accountable GP. Having a named GP does not prevent you from seeing any other doctor in the practice. Your named GP will not always be available and if you need to be seen urgently, you will need to see an alternative GP. If you wish to know the name of your accountable GP please contact reception or ask the receptionist when you are next in the surgery.

Patient Alert – Fraud Warning

NHS England has been alerted to a recent incident where a patient was contacted by someone claiming to work at Bradford on Avon Health Centre in Wiltshire. The caller stated that the patient’s prescription was ready for collection and could be delivered if debit / credit card payment details were provided. The patient was further advised that he needed to pay an additional cost following a change that had been made to the prescription.
